Blizzard announced a bunch of cool stuff already this weekend as part of the very first BlizzConlinethe online version of its normally in-person annual BlizzCon event.
Much of the new Diablo IV Rogue class was shown off during the presentation, and YouTube channel GamersPrey has compiled gameplay footage shown during the presentation into a 7 minute compilation.
Feast your eyes:
It looks fine. I admit, it doesnt look that much different from Diablo III except for the new mounts. Its slightly darker looking, maybe a bit bloodier. The music is maybe a little more serious or strident.
You can only get so much from a 7 minute compilation video of footage specifically designed by Blizzard to only show a small slice of the game in action, a game which is far from finished still.
It looks a touch slower, more deliberate, less magic effects and chaos, though again this could just be because of whats being shown. Sometimes in Diablo III I find myself absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of stuff going on. I played some recently with my kids and my son played the Necromancer and theres always like a billion skeletons running around with us and I hate it immensely. Im going to need him to play a different character. Hopefully Diablo IV can balance classes around visibility a little bit better.
Its also tricky to judge this game by the above footage since its a little blurry largely thanks to the download/upload process. Im sure the game will look much better at release.
