The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reporting 3,455 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases statewide in the last 24 hours, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 980,302 cases as of Friday.
The state is reporting a total of 24,741 coronavirus-related deaths Friday, which is an increase of 35.
Approximately 92 percent of cases have recovered. 4,036,426 have tested negative for coronavirus with 9,078 more negatives Friday.
Hospitalizations and testing
In Pennsylvania, there are 1,548 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, which is an increase of 62 from Thursday. Of that number, 317 (+30) are in the ICU.
The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day is about 4,500 lower than it was at the peak Dec. 25, 2020. The current 14-day average is below what it was at the height of the spring peak May 3, 2020.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of March 5 – March 11 stood at 5.7%.
Pennsylvania has administered 4,043,398 (+111,852) total vaccine doses through March 18.
2,614,522 first doses have been administered, and 1,428,876 second doses have been administered.
Vaccination numbers for Pennsylvania do not include Philadelphia, which is its own jurisdiction, or federal facilities, which are working directly with the federal government.

Erie County saw 24 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 18,262 as of Friday.
The county reported no new deaths Friday, keeping the total at 448. The state reported one new death in Erie County Friday, increasing the total to 389. The county and state use different data sources for deaths, causing the discrepancy.
21 (+2) patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 with 8 (+0) adult patients in the ICU. One (+0) is on a ventilator. 29 (+4) out of 194 total ventilators are in use.
Crawford County’s cases increased by 13 to 6,580. No new deaths were reported in the county Friday, leaving the total at 140.
Seven (-2) patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 with four (-1) adult patients in the ICU. Two (-2) are on ventilators. Four (-5) out of 24 available ventilators are now in use.
Warren County’s case total increased by one Friday, raising the total to 2,244. No new deaths were reported Friday, leaving the total at 98.
Two (+0) patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 with no (+0) adult patients in the ICU and none (+0) on ventilators. None (+0) of 12 total ventilators are in use.
