Love Island’s first week has drawn to a close in dramatic fashion as two boys were left out in the cold in the first recoupling of the series.
This evening’s episode (July 2) saw the Islanders get to know new bombshells Chuggs and Liam, with a couple getting their heads turned by the arrivals.
However, they didn’t have long to make an impression as later on Chloe received a text, declaring: “Islanders. Tonight, there will be a recoupling in which the girls will choose which boy to couple up with. #toomanymennotenoughtime #girlpower.”

As such, the Islanders gathered round the fire pit (the scene of many a dramatic Love Island moment) as the girls were given all the power to choose which boys they wanted to couple up with.
First up was Kaz – who had so far been coupled up with Toby – as she said: “I would like to couple up with this boy because every time we spend time together he makes me feel really happy. I’m excited to get to know him more and more each day.”
In the end, she decided to stick with Toby, before Sharon revealed who she would be going with after being coupled up with Hugo.

“I would like to couple up with this boy because when I’m around him he makes me feel very comfortable. He’s got a really good sense of humor and he makes me laugh all the time and it’s never awkward,” she said, before choosing Aaron.
Next up was Liberty who decided to stick with Jake after their coupling earlier this week, before Faye opted to uncouple with Brad and go with newcomer Liam.
Last up was Chloe, who having previously been paired with Aaron decided to go with Hugo.
As such, that means that Brad and Chuggs have been left single… though one big twist was left to come as the show introduced a new bombshell called Rachel, who has been given 24 hours to couple up with one of them.
And the one left single afterwards will be dumped from the island.

Viewers at home were left in shock by the big turn of events… though many were disappointed that Brad and Chuggs got a second chance while Shannon was dumped suddenly earlier in the week:
