If you ever wanted to get your hands on a Ford Raptor and only have around PHP 5,000 in your pocket, you’re in luck.
Arriving at a Lego store near you is the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor Technic. Set to be available on October 1, 2021, the mini Raptor will have a sticker price of $99 (about PHP 4,872), making it one of the most affordable Technic Lego sets yet. Typically, most Technic builds start at $ 169.99 (about PHP 8,317) and go higher.
It’s composed of 1,379 pieces and is only available in one color scheme, the signature Code Orange. Once it’s fully assembled, the scaled-down F-150 Raptor measures 42cm long, 18cm wide, and 15cm tall.
Style-wise, the miniature pick-up truck features design cues just like the real thing. These include the large LED headlights, bold ‘FORD’ lettering on the grille and tailgate, flared wheel arches, a functioning suspension system, massive wheels and tires, and Raptor decals on the rear quarter panels. Like most Technic sets, the F-150 Raptor also has functional doors, hood, and tailgate.
Under the hood, this F-150 Raptor also has a working twin-turbo V6 powerplant. That’s right, the pistons on the six-cylinder actually move just like the real thing. While it may not make 450 PS, the motor does provide a simulated look and feel for the Lego Technic set.
With the F-150 Raptor in Lego Technic form slated to be available three months from now, those that are planning to get it (or gift it) for the holidays are in for a real treat. Perhaps the only problems enthusiasts will have to face once it’s officially available are its limited supply and making reservations.
For now, the F-150 Raptor Technic is now available for pre-order at the official Lego store.
