A woman has reportedly driven into a barricade outside Trump Tower in Chicago.
According to police scanner audio, the incident took place outside the Trump International Hotel and Tower at 401 North Wabash Avenue in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
“A female just hit one of the barricades claiming she wanted to run into the building cause she doesn’t agree with Trump,” a man is heard saying in the call.
“I’m right in front of the Trump Tower,” the man adds.
A spokesman for the Chicago Police Department told Newsweek that he was awaiting further details about the incident.
The incident comes after President Donald Trump exhorted his supporters to march on the U.S. Capitol, where lawmakers were meeting to affirm Joe Biden’s election victory.
A violent mob of Trump supporters stormed and ransacked the building, forcing lawmakers to evacuate. At least five people died as a result, including a Capitol police officer.
The House is now moving to impeach the president for “incitement of insurrection.”
